Hi guys! It’s been a while since I interviewed one of my favorite bloggers but today I’m back with a new exciting interview!

The first time I laid eyes on Lauren’s fabulous blog: The Skinny Confidential I kept scrolling on and on. I AM IN LOVE WITH IT. She is so freaking funny, and definitely keeps it real with her blog which is hard to find in the current blogosphere. She’s also a very successful entrepreneur which is something I look up to and someone who is a very inspiring role model. Time to introduce this gem to you guys:

How would you like to introduce yourself to my readers?

Hi! I’m Lauryn from the blog, The Skinny Confidential. I am also a YouTuber and an author (book can be found here). I spend my days blogging, cooking, reading, writing, creating, taking pictures, and spending time with my doggies (Pixy Bean and T.Boone Pickens).

I started my blog as a platform to connect with women everywhere about four years ago while I was attending San Diego State University. There were not a lot of healthy food options so I wanted to create a space on the Internet that showcased tips & tricks for staying healthy by modifying foods. From there The Skinny Confidential has turned in to a lifestyle space on the web where I talk about everything from moving in before marriage to organic tampons to camel toes.

After blogging daily for the last three years, what was it like to write a full-length memoir?

Honestly? It was brutal. A lot of long hours and late night spend in front of the computer. The book is a space where I can connect one on one with the reader. The blog has been more of a community.

The book is meant to feel like I’m in your living room drinking a cinnamon cappuccino (or chilled rose!) talking about makeup, relationships, life. It was very important to me to put my everything in to the book.

As crazy as this sounds though, I’m ready to write another one! It is/was such a rewarding process.

I’m a dummy when it comes to healthy food, that’s why I like to visit your blog.. Do you have some quick tips on how to stay healthy when you work very long days?

I know you’re a huge traveler, Noor so that can be difficult!!

My quick healthy tips: drink tons of tea (it’s a diuretic & has tons of benefits), instead of wrapping a taco in tortilla wrap it in lettuce, add fruit to your water (especially lemon), always carry raw almonds and small fruits like tangerines, EGGS are key (they’re super helpful for weight loss), and my biggest tip? CHIA SEEDS. I add them to everything. They expand in the stomach so they’re very filling. They also can go in everything. I put them in smoothies, salad dressings, Greek yogurt, on fruit, &/or on top of oatmeal.

Whom do you envision as your target reader?

My target reader is someone who loves healthy living but also loves balance. They have kale in one hand and champagne in the other. Basically The Skinny Confidential is a place for me to say “hey here’s my experience, but I don’t know everything so what’s your experience?” My readers are smart, savvy, go-getters who want to be the best versions of themselves without deprivation.

The target reader is someone I would love to be friends with too!

Ultimate tip for aspiring bloggers?

Be yourself. I cannot stress it enough.

Finding your own voice is so important! My main goal has always been to write how I talk in real life. Basically YOU ARE INTERESTING (not you, but in general). Everyone has a story, a tone, a creative way, use it!

One of the reasons I started reading Queen of Jet lags because it was different and unique. You are a great example of someone who’s inspiring!

How do you feel about sharing your personal life on your blog?

Hmmm. This is tricky. I’m very specific about how much I share. I’m a Gemini so I would say The Skinny Confidential is a Gemini too. On one hand I’m super open and raw and real but on the other hand there’s definitely a censored version of myself. The Skinny Confidential is my alter ego, I guess.

On the other hand I don’t over-share about my family, my relationship, or my home life. A lot of things I don’t share are not my stories to tell. Also, I don’t really ever put my bedroom on the blog. I can be introverted…but I’m also extroverted.

I definitely believe there’s such thing as over-sharing. Some things are meant to be kept private!

Are there any fashion icons or famous people whose style you admire?

I admire Miranda Kerr because she’s a total sex kitten who’s built an empire off her organic beauty products. Basically I love women who are entrepreneurial. Victoria Beckham is another go-getter. She’s inspiring, man. Both of those babes also have killer fashion sense. Oh! Margot Robbie is GORGEOUS too.

I like a woman who’s the whole package: smart, savvy, sexy, & confident. That’s admirable.

Thanks Lauren! I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and keep an eye on her blog as there will be an interview with yours truly up very soon! Go and check it out! Hugs!
